A sketch for a 3D structure – Isometric paper certainly helps working out how to draw what I can see clearly in my mind’s eye but still I made a major mistake.

Inspired by my father’s isometric drawing
I kept think about of the shapes in the drawing so I made a 3D version of a small section. It will be a brooch, I couldn’t decide whether it should be highly polished or brushed matte finish. Here it is sitting on my workbench, still in the making. It measures about 4.5cm, made from silver sheet.

Boone’s Chapel
Boone’s Chapel stands just a few minutes walk from my home, it was built in 1682 as a private almshouse chapel and is one of just two Grade 1 listed buildings in Lewisham. My eye has often been drawn to it when walking past or on the bus, this study has its faults but it hopefully shows some of the spirit of the building.
Gladstone’s Land in Edinburgh
This graceful building is at 477B Lawnmarket, on the right side as one looks up to the castle. It is a preserved 17th C merchant’s house, rstored and furnished by the National Trust for Scotland.
