I love stairs, here are some photos of one of my favourite staircases, from AGO Toronto. https://sallywakelin.wordpress.com/2012/02/10/more-on-stairs/

The statement piece of any well thought out home is the staircase. Some have banisters ideal for sliding down, others are ultra modern with floating glass that appear to defy gravity! Here are a few that have caught my eye:

2) I admire the form of these stairs. I like how the ‘banister’ and steps are separate pieces, and the transition as you climb from dark to light. Source.

Pacific Sunset

The last sunset – until next time . . .
We both saw the green flash for the first time, so short, if you blink you miss it, if you look too soon the sun leaves a temporary dark blur in your vision which blocks the green flash. But tonight we saw it at last, a tiny emerald spot right above where the tip of the sun disappears over the horizon.
The waves were inky and dark and reflections on the surface almost lilac against the deep orange sun – perfect.

The Salk Institute building perfectly suits the bright clear skied climate of Southern California. The ratio of positive to negative space is 50:50, the positive being regularly interrupted by views across, through and out toward the sea. The rectangular courtyard draws one back again and again, the subtle leading lines of shallow channels, raised edging on cast concrete, travertine marble benches combing to make a contemplative thoughtful place.
