Pacific Sunset

The last sunset – until next time . . .
We both saw the green flash for the first time, so short, if you blink you miss it, if you look too soon the sun leaves a temporary dark blur in your vision which blocks the green flash. But tonight we saw it at last, a tiny emerald spot right above where the tip of the sun disappears over the horizon.
The waves were inky and dark and reflections on the surface almost lilac against the deep orange sun – perfect.
