Subtracted Squares

I keep returning to making variations of this drawing or shape-making. The simple form, rotated, repeated, reflected is so enjoyable to draw, complex enough that I can’t quite imagine the variations until they are committed in ink. 

I love the spare black lines on white/cream paper but using a photo editing application to invert the colours so that the lines are white on an inky blue background excites me even more!
